Binsar Forest Retreat

Featuring a terrace, Binsar Forest Retreat offers accommodation in Binsar with views of the himalayas and the Kumaoni hills. Some units include a seating area and/or a balcony. The daily breakfast offers buffet and Asian options. Guests can grab a bite to eat in the in-house restaurant, which serves a variety of Indian and Italian dishes and also offers vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options. The location was amazing with the views of the Himalayas from our room and balcony. The staff was very courteous, helpful, and the FOOD was very good. They even prepared a dish with sponge gourd upon my son's ad-hoc request (apparently sponge gourd [torai] is my son's favourite vegetable :) ). If you like trekking you can trek to the Zero Point to get more expansive views of the Himalayas (we were unlucky as there were clouds covering the views, however got a good view from our room itself). It was cold and the staff would light up the bukhari (fireplace) at night in the room and provide hot water bags under our feet! Mr. Preetam who runs the property and stays there is such a nice person, and we had some good conversations with him over breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner! The Binsar Forest Retreat is inside the wildlife sanctuary, and you have to pay an entry fee while entering. You have to drive inside for about 6km and then the last 600m is very tricky, and that is why they transport you in their jeeps. If you love offroading and arrive in your 4x4 (proper 4x4), you should try this last 600m route in your car :)
